For my 4 months graduation assignment I have independently worked on a confidential project for a Canon Nederlands in the educational sector. Due to the confidentiality agreement, I cannot share the documents, the prototype I worked on, or why I chose certain methods over others, but I will showcase my design process.
Because the desired product is complex and very user centric , it was
essential to fully understand the context surrounding this project and
talk with real people.
I started with desk research on the topics of most importance and the
target audience, performed a competitor analysis and interviewed the users
of the competitors to truly understand the curent pains, had interviews
with experts on the topic
As a result of the research, I prioritized the design requirements in a
MoSCoW analysis based on time constraints and the most important features
needed in the first prototype.
During this whole process it was very important to involve the target audience as much as possible, thus, next to the initial orientation interviews, the users were involved in the concepting process as well through co creation using sketching, the 20 ideas method and card-sorting.
With this user imput, I have created three different concepts. Using the Hariss Method and the client's input a concept was chosen to be developed further
The prototype was created in Figma and it was quickly iterated with the target audience. Additionally, the final iteration underwent a rigorous usability test to find potential bottlenecks and points of improvement in the design. This final test included:
At the end of the process, I presented the fourth iteration to various stakeholders. The project had a positive reception and may be continued internally.
